Short answer: a business in Israel has three main ways to play music. A personal streaming account is cheapest but not legal for commercial use. Global business services are licensed in their own markets but do not necessarily settle the rights situation in Israel. Local licensed music like BGplay solves both the legal side and the local fit, for one flat price.

Personal Spotify or Apple Music account

This is what most small businesses use, and it is also the most problematic. These services' terms allow personal use only, so playing them for customers in a business is a breach, and it does not settle ACUM or recording rights either. Global business services

Services such as Soundtrack Your Business, SiriusXM for Business and Cloud Cover Music are built for businesses and handle licensing with the rights bodies in their own markets. Two limits in the Israeli market: pricing is usually in US dollars and aimed at chains, and local fit (including how rights are managed in Israel) is not a given, so it is worth confirming with them exactly what is covered [VERIFY].

Local licensed music: BGplay

BGplay is an Israeli service with an original catalog whose rights are cleared in advance. That means no separate ACUM fee, no recording-rights fee, and no enforcement risk. The price is one flat ₪9.90 per month, the interface is in Hebrew, and stations are curated by venue type and time of day.

How to choose

Check three things: whether the option covers commercial playback in Israel, what the real monthly price is, and whether the catalog fits your audience and atmosphere. More in the guide to choosing a business music service and licensed background music for business.
